The company started out as a dealer in gold coins in 1973 and, in 1989, started to retail jewellery to consumers in Korea who had begun to appreciate and buy jewellery as fashionable accessories and not as investment collateral. Over the years, Golden dew opened shops in major department stores in Korea and now has a total of 67 shops, 40 of which are directly operated by the company and the rest by commission agents.
